What better way to welcome the beginning of spring than with a vibrant new Shellac colour range from CND! The latest collection ‘Art Vandal’ has already been so popular with shellac clients.  For those of you that don’t know last year we became stockists of Vinylux polish.  Vinylux is a 7 day, chip resistant wear (this theory is confirmed after testing from our Elite nail tech Emma), fast drying 2 step application that lasts amazingly compared to usual high street varnishes!  Apply vinuylux just like your average nail polish, with 2 generous coats of colours followed by 1 coat of Vinylux top coat.  With over 100 colours to choose from Vinylux is perfect for those who are unable to have shellac on due to work, or for those wishing to match  fingers to toes?  Lastly if we don’t have it in stock we’ll order it in for you!

At the end of February Louise and Charlene made their annual trip to the Professional Beauty exhibition in London.  They had a great day wondering around checking out what’s new in the industry & keeping up to date with all the latest trends and exciting news.  Whilst on the subject of nails their most exciting purchase was some amazing new nail stamps!  We are now able to offer nail stamping to any nail treatment at a small extra cost.  Just make sure if you are interested please inform us when you book your appointment so we can allow some extra time. Here are just a few examples of nail stamping…

Training

As you may have seen on Facebook last month we have had lots of training happening in clinic with Kelly, Charlene, Liberty, Rianne, Shannon, and Jess all training in a variety of treatments we have been seeking models for the girls to get some practise & also gain some experience in each of the fields they have recent learnt.  The response on Facebook was amazing thank you to everyone who has either booked an appointment or already been in!

We are offering some excellent discounts for treatments with our newly trained staff so if you are interested in trying a new skin treatment, Laser hair removal or Advance Electrolysis then give the  clinic a call or email as soon as possible, spaces are limited.

Product of the month

This month Charlene has chosen her product of the month to be Agera Rx Oil Free Moisturiser.  This oil-free hypoallergenic moisturiser is specifically designed for normal / oily or oily / acne prone skin types. The cream forms a dry invisible barrier moments after application to seal in moisture and keep out harmful environmental elements such as pollution, dryness and wind. It provides a perfect base to apply make-up on. Tocopheryl (Vitamin E) a potent antioxidant prevents free radical damage and Beta-Glucaderm promotes good skin texture and health.  Charlene says “I use this moisturiser every day & night, it doesn’t sit on my skin feeling greasy like most I’ve used before, the price is really reasonable as well”.

A word from Tracy – Elite Permanent Make-up Artist, Trainer and Judge

Everyone is asking for microblading. Some clients ask for this treatment without knowing truly what it is and other clients have carried out research and know this is the effect they want for their brows.  Why so popular? Is this new? What are the results compared to the current more traditional method of digital permanent makeup?  Let’s look at some of the facts for those considering this treatment.

 So what is it?

Although Microblading is a very old technique it is now one of the hottest tattooing techniques in the UK and abroad. It has many names including Eyebrow Embroidery, Feathering and more.

The method uses a hand instrument with disposable needles to create a feathering hair technique.

The micro needles implant delicate crisp eyebrow hair strokes using a medical grade EU approved pigments colour to suit each individual.  Only the best quality pigments are used to achieve the great results and retention.  The end result is soft, flawless and natural beautiful brows. People love Microblading as it enhances their natural features and overall appearance without the brows dominating the face. The results can last up to 1 year and its recommended a yearly ‘refresh’ boost around 12-18months.

The whole process of Microblading takes about an hour.  A perfecting boost is required 6-8 weeks later to implant more colour and perfect the eyebrow shape if needed but not always necessary.

What is the difference between digital method and microblading.

Essentially any tool that implants colour into the skin is a tattoo or known as permanent makeup. The current digital method utilises a machine with a hand piece that implants pigment using safe disposable needles into the skin. The needle moves up and down and pushes the pigment into the Dermis of the skin. Again using pigments not inks. It offers power and works well particularly on difficult skin like oily or weathered. It is an all-rounder tool that can be used for hair stroke brows and powdered, eyes and lips.

Microblading uses a new disposable hand tool or reusable (only with autoclave) with a new disposable needle inserted in the end of the hand piece. There is now electric or digital method to action the implantation. The technique is all in the artists skill to know where in the dermis to implant the pigment and to create a crisp authentic hair stroke. There is no doubt with the right needle and technique beautiful simple crisp looking hair strokes can be created using this method. The end result is soft, flawless and natural beautiful brows.
